BASES the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences

About

Location: Online

Price: Included in SEPAR application fee/ SE candidates £100

Booking Deadline: Thursday 8 February 2024, Midnight

The aim of this workshop is to introduce candidates to the theory and practice of reflective practice and to offer guidance and instruction as to how existing models of reflective practice can be applied to the development of sport and exercise scientists.

Learning outcomes of the workshop:

  • Identify how different types of knowledge can be developed through reflective practice
  • Appreciate and apply different theoretical models of reflective practice
  • Utilise reflective practice as a tool for self-development
  • Record and evidence their use of reflective practice

To limit the ‘online’ time and to allow for discussions in the workshops there will be pre-Workshop tasks and self directed resources. You should set aside around 2 or 3 hours of your time to ensure that they are completed before joining the online session. These will be sent a week prior to the workshop.

Booking Terms and Conditions
By registering for this workshop, you are agreeing for BASES to provide to the workshop presenter your email contact details. The workshop presenter is contracted by BASES to deliver the workshop.  Following the workshop, there is the opportunity for one-to-one email support and exchange of additional information with the workshop presenter(s) for any individual questions and follow-ups, which is why the presenter requires your email contact details.
Workshops require a minimum number of delegates to run. If a workshop is cancelled, this will be done no later than 7 days prior to the workshop date.
Please do not book more than one place on a workshop. Booking a place on multiple dates for the same workshop denies other candidates of a place and workshops have limited availability. If you are unsure what dates you have previously booked, please email education@bases.org.uk to find out.
For SE Candidates: Any cancellations received up to 7 days before the workshop are subject to a 50% cancellation charge. All workshop fees are forfeited thereafter, however substitutions can be made. Please note that if a delegate does not cancel and does not attend, then they are still responsible for payment.
For SEPAR Candidates: As per the Qualification Handbook, please note that only one free place per candidate is permitted on each workshop. If a candidate books and then cancels within 7 days of the workshop, or fails to attend the workshop without notifying the BASES Office, then the candidate will be liable to pay the delegate fee to attend that workshop when it is next scheduled. The fees are as follows:
BASES Safeguarding workshop £50
BASES Ethics in Professional Practice workshop £100
BASES Reflective Practice workshop £100
BASES Case Study workshop £50
BASES Counselling Skills Workshop £250
BASES Equality, Diversity and Inclusion workshop £100

These workshops are compulsory as part of the SEPAR and are an expectation of the HCPC requirements.
