JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Casual Strength & Conditioning Coach Division: Campus Services Department: Sport Imperial Grade: £15.58/hour (£13.91+ Holiday pay) – Casual Worker Responsible to: Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach Internal Contacts: Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach, Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, Sports Development Manager, Sports Partnership Administrator, Ethos Centre Manager, Ethos Duty Managers, Students, Staff CLOSING DATE: 12/01/2023 6pm Interview dates: Week commencing 15/01/2023. Key tasks and responsibilities The Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for planning, designing, delivering and reviewing strength and conditioning programmes, underpinned by sound scientific knowledge, for teams and individual athletes. As part of this role, you will work alongside colleagues in the performance and sport development team and practitioners from other areas to successfully provide a holistic athletic development service to students. This is not an entry level position, you will have significant experience of designing and delivering strength and conditioning programmes for performance teams and individual athletes. It is desirable that you will also be a UKSCA Accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach (or be working towards this with the ability to achieve within 6 months). This is a casual contract role but we envisage the role will need to cover up to 20 hrs per week in term time. This role is for term time provision only and you will not be required during the weekends or the holiday period. Some evenings and early mornings will be required and can be discussed further. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential criteria: -BSc in strength and conditioning, sports science, or related subjects -Demonstrable experience in planning, delivery, and evaluation of performance enhancement programmes -Must have a coaching or fitness-based qualification i.e. Level 2+ sport coaching, -Strong underpinning scientific knowledge and rationale for developing dual-career athletes -Understanding of how to analyse the needs of the athlete and sport, physical profiling, on-going monitoring and adjustment of programs -Experience using various assessment tools such as VALD forcedecks & output monitors -Strong communicator with impeccable time management and organisational skills -A holistic approach to performance enhancement that places the athlete at the centre -Strong I.T skills (Excel, Microsoft word, MS teams, PowerPoint & powerbi) Desirable Criteria: -UKSCA accreditation (or ability to achieve within 6 months) -Other strength and conditioning qualifications CSCS, NASM, EXOS…. -Experience working across multiple sports at a high performance or elite performance setting -Postgraduate degree in sport science, strength and conditioning, sport rehab etc. -Experience working in an educational setting (preferably higher education) -First aid qualification Equal Opportunities • Understanding of Equal Opportunities within the context of a student leisure environment Essential Knowledge/Skills/Ability • Good Communication Skills, both written and verbal • Good I.T.
