The opportunity The Youth Physical Development (YPD) Centre is the hub for a wide range of youth athletes from a variety of sports. The athletes range from ages 8-18 years, and receive a variety of gym and field based sessions, depending on their sport and involvement with regional and national squads. The mission of the YPD Centre is to deliver research-informed, long-term physical development that enhances athleticism, reduces injury risk, and promotes positive health and wellbeing. You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a commitment to providing high quality delivery of sessions. To be successful, you will add further value to the YPD centre through your expertise and coaching experience as evidenced through your qualifications and experience. What We Are Looking For • An in-depth knowledge of strength and conditioning, ideally in a youth population. • A good understanding of pedagogy. • Ability to design and deliver a range of physical development sessions for various teams / athletes of different maturity status. • Ability to collect, process, and interpret monitoring (training load) and testing (strength, power, speed, anthropometric) data • Ability to review programme design on a regular basis with the coaching team, and make alterations where appropriate. • An understanding of safeguarding when working with children. • A good honours degree. • A recognised S&C qualification (such as UKSCA, NSCA or equivalent) or having graduated from a professionally recognised undergraduate degree.
