About the Event
Steve Nance, Founder and Education Consultant at Fit Education, Australia, will be delivering a live webinar, discussing whether we neglect the conditioning component too much in S&C. This will include a Q&A at the end.
Steve Nance is a highly respected and experienced Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coach from Australia with over four decades of experience in professional sports. He has worked extensively across Australia, France, and England, leaving a significant impact on elite athletic performance.
A notable career highlight for Steve Nance was his role on the coaching staff for the 1999 Rugby World Cup-winning Wallabies team, under the coaching of Rod Macqueen. He was instrumental in transforming the team’s physical preparation, introducing a scientific approach to fitness and conditioning that was pioneering for the time. His tenure with the Wallabies began in 1997. Nance’s expertise extends beyond rugby union; he has also held key S&C roles with some of Australia’s most prominent rugby league clubs, including multiple stints with the Brisbane Broncos and a period with the North Queensland Cowboys.
His diverse experience also includes work with the Queensland Reds rugby union team, ASM Rugby and Bordeaux Begles in France, and Leeds Carnegie Rugby in England. Nance’s expertise extends to football, where he served as a performance consultant for England’s Fulham FC. He has also been involved with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (Wimbledon) as a High-Performance Manager. In addition to his on-field roles, Steve Nance is a well-regarded educator, having lectured in Human Movement Studies at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and taught fitness courses. His extensive background has made him a leading figure in the S&C field, known for his work in high-performance environments and his commitment to athlete development. Steve is also recognised as a Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (mISCP) with the IUSCA.
