Cashflow planning
Cashflow planning is the foundation of sustainable financial wellbeing – particularly for individuals whose income is irregular, time-limited, or subject to rapid change. I specialise in helping athletes, talent and other high-performing professionals create long-term financial clarity through structured, forward-looking cashflow planning.
In sport especially, careers are often short and earnings can be highly concentrated in a relatively brief period of time. Early peak earnings, performance-based bonuses and one-off contract payments can create significant opportunity – but also risk if not managed with longevity in mind. Without clear planning, it can be difficult to balance present lifestyle needs with long-term financial security.
My focus is on helping clients make sense of these complex income patterns by building clear, realistic cashflow models that map out both their short-term lifestyle and long-term financial future. This includes planning for periods of lower or no income after retirement from sport, which for many can happen far earlier than in other professions.
A key part of this work is recognising that most athletes and talent will experience multiple career changes over their lifetime. Whether moving into coaching, media, business, or entirely new industries, financial planning needs to be flexible enough to support transitions rather than assume a single lifelong career path.
I also work extensively with individuals navigating large, early-life earnings events where decisions made in the moment can have long-lasting consequences. By creating structure and clarity around spending, saving, investing and future commitments, cashflow planning provides the framework needed to turn short-term success into long-term financial stability.
Ultimately, my role is to help clients gain control and confidence in their financial future – ensuring that today’s earnings support not just their current lifestyle, but a lifetime of financial security and choice.
