Mid to Late Stage Rehabilitation
As part of my role as a Strength & Conditioning Coach and Football Performance specialist, I provide a range of functional and performance related support for those individual athletes who are looking to recovery and return to play following a musculoskeletal related injury. Over recent years, I have worked with both youth and professional athletes in the men’s and women’s game who have required rehabilitation support following such football-related injuries including; ACL Reconstruction, MCL, LCL and Meniscal tears at the Knee, Ankle ligament damage, soft tissue injuries of the upper anterior and posterior thigh and those with growth related pains and back pain such as Pars interarticularis defect, spondylolysis and herniated discs. In support of this, I continue to collaborate with a number of colleagues (practitioners and clubs medics) across different domains in order to provide a broader and unique service plan to athletes outside of my working capabilties to ensure an appropriate return to competition. With those footballers I do work with in this manner, given my extensive background in sport science and academy football coaching, I am able to comfortably transition individuals from the late-stage rehab phase to competition status given the appreciation I have around workload management and the technical, tactical, physiological and metabolic positional demands.
