Introduction

At Athlete Now, our mission has always been to help the sports performance industry grow, connect and thrive together. Whether you’re a recent graduate, developing your career, or trying to break into elite sport, finding strength and conditioning jobs in the UK can feel like a massive challenge — especially in today’s competitive market and cost-of-living climate.

As a practising strength & conditioning coach and a lecturer in S&C and sport science since 2017, I’ve watched countless students enter this industry. I’ve seen the excitement, the uncertainty, and the huge potential that S&C careers offer when you know where to look. That’s exactly why I’ve created this guide — to help you navigate your options and find the strongest platforms for S&C, sport science and performance roles.

Whether your passion lies in professional sport, private coaching, education, research or clinical settings, these are the top job boards, organisations and platforms to support your search.

1. EdExPro – Practitioner Jobs & Education Partner

EdExPro is one of the best emerging platforms for sports performance, health and S&C careers, offering opportunities well beyond general fitness roles. Their system lets you build a comprehensive professional profile — including a video intro to showcase your coaching style, qualifications and personality.

You can browse jobs across:

  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Performance analysis
  • Sports science
  • Coaching
  • Sports therapy
  • Health & exercise

Recruiters also search the database directly, meaning a polished profile increases your visibility.

EdExPro is especially valuable if you’re looking for specialist or higher-level performance roles in the UK and internationally. We’ve recently partnered with EdExPro to offer mutual discounts and access the opportunities they deserve.

2. UKSCA Jobs Board

The UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) is the leading professional body for S&C coaches in the UK. Their jobs board is one of the most reliable places to find discipline-specific roles.

Typical roles advertised:

  • Accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach
  • Assistant S&C Coach
  • Athletic Development Coach
  • Performance Coach
  • Applied Sports Science roles with an S&C element

Explore current roles via the UKSCA Jobs Board — updated regularly and trusted across elite sport.

3. Athlete Now (Our Sports Practitioner Directory)

Although we no longer host a jobs board on our platform, one of the original reasons we built Athlete Now was to give sports support practitioners greater visibility and help them pick up additional work where possible. While we now focus primarily on connecting practitioners with athletes and helping you build your online presence, the directory still plays a valuable role in helping coaches get discovered.

Our practitioner directory is open to all sports performance professionals — including strength and conditioning coaches, sports therapists, psychologists, nutritionists and more. Profiles start from £20 per year, giving you access to a personalised account, partner discounts, and resources designed to support your professional growth.

In a time where the cost of living is rising, competition in the industry is high, and many S&C or sports science contracts are part-time or lower-paid in the early stages, having the ability to build an additional income stream or develop a side hustle is becoming increasingly important.

Strength and conditioning remains the most searched-for practitioner category on Athlete Now (both within our platform and through search engines), making it an ideal place for UK-based S&C coaches to increase their visibility.
